Cleaning FAQs

In addition to carpet cleaning, consider upholstery and area rug cleaning to create a complete, fresh holiday-ready space.

Scheduling a seasonal carpet cleaning before the holidays prepares your carpets for increased foot traffic and prevents dirt and debris from accumulating.

Professional carpet cleaning removes deep-seated dirt, allergens, and bacteria, making your home feel cozier and ensuring a cleaner environment for family and friends.

For most homes, cleaning carpets once before and once after the holiday season is ideal to maintain freshness and cleanliness.

If you spill tree sap in your carpet, it’s important to clean it right away. A professional carpet cleaner can help remove sticky sap without damaging your carpets.

Yes, many building cleaning services offer upholstery steam cleaning as an additional service to ensure all fabric surfaces are clean and well-maintained.

Steam cleaning removes deep-seated dirt, bacteria, and allergens, leaving carpets sanitized and fresh. It also extends the life of your carpets.

It depends on the foot traffic, but generally, carpets in busy commercial spaces should be cleaned every 6–12 months.

A standard commercial carpet cleaning service includes pre-inspection, pre-vacuuming, stain treatment, hot water extraction, deodorizing, and grooming.

Dust mites are microscopic creatures that cause respiratory allergies, while carpet beetles are insects whose larvae can irritate the skin.

While carpet beetles themselves don’t cause allergies, their larvae can cause rashes, and they may exacerbate pre-existing carpet cleaning allergies.

Vacuuming regularly, washing infested fabrics, and using professional carpet cleaning services can help eliminate carpet beetles.

Look for signs like shed larvae skins, small holes in fabric, and increased itching after sitting on carpets.

Dust mites can cause respiratory issues like sneezing or itchy eyes, but they don’t typically cause a carpet rash. Carpet beetles, however, can.

A carpet beetle rash typically looks like red, itchy bumps that appear in areas where you’ve had direct contact with an infested carpet or fabric.

On average, hardwood floors should be refinished every 7–10 years, depending on the amount of wear and tear.

The cost varies based on the size of the area and the level of damage, but prices typically range from $3 to $8 per square foot.

Yes, sanding and refinishing can remove deep scratches and restore the floor's original beauty.

Refinishing extends the life of your floors, improves their appearance, and can increase your home's overall value.

For carpet cleaning, we move items such as couches, end tables, coffee tables. We do not move antiques, beds, breakables, electronics, or any super-heavy items such as dressers. For carpet stretching and hardwood jobs, we give you the option to move it yourself or we can have it arranged to be moved for you.

We use eco-friendly products that are child and pet-safe.

Most often, these ripples can be fixed through a process called carpet stretching. We always come out first to assess your carpet in order to provide you with an accurate quote.

We have two different methods for cleaning rugs, one is a topical cleaning performed in your home, or our more in-depth process is taken care of at our shop. Call or email our office with any questions you may have so that we direct you to the best cleaning method for your rugs.

Aside from having these textiles cleaned, we suggest adding a deodorizer treatment, which is actually an enzyme that breaks down the odor-causing bacteria which is responsible for the smells. Another product that is great to add is a protection or “scotch guard” type spray that we add after the cleaning process. This allows for these surfaces to stay looking great for longer, helps spots from becoming permanent stains and reduces overall wear over time.

Yes! Some furniture that is made with specialty fabrics requires a different cleaning method, just like clothes. Typically, there is a cleaning “code” listed on a tag when you lift up the cushion on the item.

For a screening and recoating of hardwoods, it typically takes 1-3 days. For a full sanding and refinishing of hardwood floors, it will typically take 7-10 days.

Based on what has been spilled on your carpet, how long it has been there, and what has been used to try to clean it up will ultimately determine whether or not any or all spots will come up. There is no way to guarantee that 100% of all spots and stains will come out. At FLOOR PRO, we have industry-certified technicians trained with proper knowledge in how to tackle all sorts of spots and stains in the best method possible.

Vacuuming a minimum of once a week using a vacuum with a HEPA filter is one of the best things you can do to extend the life of your carpet.

The process we use to clean carpet is the “hot water extraction process” better known as “steam cleaning.” After cleaning your carpet, it will remain damp for 6-8 hours on average, but will not be sopping wet. Making sure the temperature in your home is on a cooler setting and that you have the fans on for proper airflow will help expedite the dry time for the carpets.

Hiring FLOOR PRO versus doing it yourself not only will save you time and money, but you get a more thorough cleaning with industry-certified technicians using professional-grade equipment.

Major carpet and rug manufacturers recommend every 12-18 months to keep your warranty on these products. These manufacturers also only recognize the “hot water extraction” process as the method in which these surfaces should be cleaned. At FLOOR PRO, this is the cleaning process we use. However, if you have children or pets, you should consider getting them cleaned more often than that to extend the life of your carpets.
